HOMESCHOOL PROGRAM
for Grades K-8
Welcome to the Coastal Grove Homeschool program. Students and parents of the Coastal Grove Homeschool Program receive:
- The Oak Meadow Curriculum: a comprehensive curriculum that covers your child’s year of study. Overview and lesson sample
- A yearly budget for specialty classes at Coastal Grove, community classes, and supplementary supplies
- Parent/student workshops
- Field Trips
- Festivals
- A resource center with library and supplies for check-out and purchase
- A credentialed teacher to act as an advisor and partner in your child’s education
Through the year, parents and students meet with an education coordinator to plan curriculum, share student work and celebrate his/her accomplishments. Each family becomes part of Coastal Grove Charter School attending festivals, workshops and special events. The education coordinator acts as a bridge to organized community activities and school events for families to participate in.
We enjoy working in an independent study program because it allows us to foster a personalized learning environment for each student. We can tailor lessons to meet their unique needs and interests, helping them take ownership of their learning at their own pace. This individualized approach not only promotes deeper understanding but also empowers students to become more self-motivated and confident in their academic journey. The flexibility of the program also provides us with the opportunity to build strong, one-on-one connections with students and support their growth in meaningful ways.
